Noticeboard

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, please drop off and collect your repeat prescription at your usual chemist.

In line with the latest government guidelines, we have changed the way GP appointments are made.

All GP consultations will initially be done remotely either over the phone or via video.

Please ensure we have your up-to-date contact details.

Appointments

steth_pills_diaryAppointments can be made by telephoning during normal surgery hours. We have an email address which you can use for non-urgent requests for appointments or call backs, which is parkhouseprestatyn@wales.nhs.uk  We may respond by telephone or email.  By initiating contact by email you are consenting to us replying to you by email.

You can also register for My Health On Line which will give you access to on line booking (not available during COVID pandemic) - please ask at Reception.

Routine appointments can be made two to three weeks in advance, which will enable us to offer you an appointment at a time best suitable to your requirements and preference of practitioner if available.

You will be asked about the nature of your appointment to enable reception staff to give you an appointment with the appropriate health care professional.

Same day appointment requests will be triaged by the nurse and she will book you in for a telephone or face to face consultation with the appropriate clinician if it is deemed clinically urgent.

Children under 16 years with acute presentations will be offered a same day consultation with an appropriate clinician (this may be a telephone consultation).

A GP appointment is for ten minutes.  Therefore, usually only one problem can be dealt with in this time.  If you have multiple problems that you feel may take more than 10 minutes, please let the Receptionist know when booking the appointment.

Please remember Westfield surgery is a branch site and is closed from 12:30 on Wednesday and Friday.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.  Four of our nurses are prescribers.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

If you have given us your mobile telephone number you will be sent a text reminder - you can now cancel via this text reminder.

You can now also email your cancellation to us at Cancellations.w91028@wales.nhs.uk - please provide your DOB and time and date of appointment you wish to cancel.
